Muskau Park
Within the Muskauer Faltenbogen area there are several landscape parks. Muskau Park is a real jewel in the crown. It is one of the biggest English landscape parks in the entire Europe. It was established by prince Herman Pueckler. It is characterized by unique vegetation, orangeries, a spa and a mountain park, beauty spots, monumental tenement houses, numerous bridges and the Prince Pueckler castle, which was fully renovated and combines the parts of the previous decorations with a modern multimedia room. In 2004, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Geo-tourist path “Old Babina Mine“
World Geopark UNESCO Muskauer Faltenbogen. Within its area there are over 100 anthropogenic lakes, and the biggest attraction is the geo-tourist path “Dawna Kopalnia Babina”. Colorful emerald lakes with high slopes, various geological forms, a viewing tower and long cycling paths which are ideal for active relaxation.
Erratic Boulders Park in Nochten
Erratic Boulders Park in Nochten is an extraordinary place with seven thousand blocks of Scandinavian origin. The park is located several kilometers from the border. A variety of vegetation, small ponds, streams and its landform make it a beautiful place for long walks and learning about the geological history of the region.
Park in Kromlau
The rhododendron and azalea park in Kromlau, located 7 km away from Łęknica. It can be reached from Bad Muskau by a unique forest railway. The park is a perfect spot for walks and cycle tourism. The main attraction of the park is the Slate Bridge called the Devil’s Bridge.
Zielony Las (Green Forest)
Zielony Las, which is a nature reserve, is a part of the Natura 2000 program and it is also an extraordinary forest complex located on the Żary Hills. Majestic beech forests, diversified landform and abundant fauna make it an ideal area for people who enjoy active relaxation outdoors.
Cultural-Educational Center
Cultural-Educational Center of World Geopark UNESCO Muskauer Faltenbogen in Łęknicais located in the historic industrial building called the old carpentry shop. The center offers various interesting activities, among others ceramics manufacturing and glass processing workshops. It is possible to see permanent and temporary exhibitions about nature, geology, hydrology, dendrology and industrial history of the area of World Geopark UNESCO Muskauer Faltenbogen in Łęknica.
Zielona Góra
The biggest city of the region is Zielona Góra, which is also considered to be the winery capital of Poland. The city annually organizes its famous grape harvest events. This interesting event attracts thousands of tourists every year.
Court park in Iłowa
An exceptional park which combines various landscape styles: English, French and Japanese. The garden is full of flowers and includes a beautiful rose garden, small ponds, bridges and magnificent oak alleys.
Observation tower in Weisswasser
An observation tower, overlooking an open pit mine, located on the Schwerer Hill. It is a thirty-meter-high structure with the view of the open pit mine Nochten and Reichwalde. It offers an impressive view. Visitors can see the operating part of the mine with its enormous mining machines, post-mining areas and the thermal power plant in Boxberg. On a clear day it is possible to see the mountainous areas of the borderlands of Poland, Germany and Czechia.
